Minimum Requirements of Eligibility BUET Admission
Interested applicants must have a minimum GPA of 4.00 on a scale of 5.00 in the SSC grade system or equivalent & HSC examination or equivalent examination, 2017/2018 must be the SSC Passing year & 2020 must be the HSC Passing year. In Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, Bangla & English, the total point is 22.5.
The admission test can be attended by 12000+ applicants at most. In 5 papers(Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English), applicants must pass GCE ‘O’ Level with ‘B’ Grade and GCE ‘A’ Level with ‘A’ Grade in at least 3 subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) & ‘B’ Grade in other subjects.

BUET Application Fee
For ‘Ka’ Group, which will include Engineering Departments and Urban & Regional Planning (URP) Department, the application fee is only BDT 900/-. For ‘Kha’ Group, which will include Engineering Departments and Urban & Regional Planning (URP) Department as well as Architecture and Planning Department, the application fee is only BDT 1,100/-.
Students who are interested in studying Architecture must apply to the ‘Kha’ Group. There are a total of 1060 seats available.
How to Apply for the BUET Admission Exam
Interested applicants must apply online. Applicants must first go to the BUET Admission website at www.buet.ac.bd. You can get the Application Form there. This must be filled out by candidates through their relevant data. According to the official BUET website, the applicant must, first of all, apply for a duly completed online application form through the online submission system available on the university website (www.buet.ac.bd) within the time specified.
A color image of the recently taken passport size (approximately 300 to 350 pixels and maximum 75 KB size) and the signature (either scanned or photographed, approximately 300 to 80 pixels and maximum 20 KB size) must be submitted at the appropriate place of the submission form (JPG format). No writing and no attestation are permitted on this photograph.
Note that, in the examination hall, the photograph and signature will be checked. You will get a serial number after properly submitting the application with all the details. To send the Application Charge, use this serial number.
For applicants whose ‘Receipt of application’ is marked with the symbols E, S, T, or R, it will not be appropriate to submit an application form only online; they must also submit, within the stated date, a printed copy of the submitted application form along with the necessary documents. If this is not accomplished, the cancellation of the online application would be applied.
How to Pay the Application Fee
The application fee should be charged by SMS using TeleTalk Pre-paid Mobile SIM. The application form can be submitted by sending an SMS to 16222 via TeleTalk Mobile SIM. You can do this by SMS.
SMS Format: BUET <space> Application Number (6-digit Application Number of the Applicants)
For Example: BUET< space >123456
If this SMS is successfully sent, the sender will receive a return SMS indicating the name of the applicant, the number of the application fee, and a 6-digit PIN code and will be required to pay the application fee. If the applicant agrees to pay the application fee then the following SMS must be sent.
SMS Format: BUET<space>YES<space>PIN code (with 6-digit PIN code) and send it to 16222
The application fee will be deducted from the balance if the sender has ample balance on his/her cell phone and will be informed by a confirmation SMS.
